Pool Deck Remodeling in the Phoenix Metro

We remodel pool decks across the Phoenix metro in travertine, limestone, artistic pavers and acrylic cool deck coating. We are a family-run design and build company in Gilbert, and we work around the pool you already have.

What does it cost? A good starting point for a typical deck remodel is $15 per square foot, and coping runs $30 per linear foot. Most decks are 300 to 400 square feet, and most of our jobs also cover an adjacent patio or extend the deck.

What a Deck Remodel Includes

A deck remodel is more than a new surface. We look at the deck, the coping along the edge of the pool, and the patio next to it, then plan them together so the whole area matches. Most of our jobs cover an adjacent patio or extend the current deck, so the finished space is often bigger than the one you started with.

Pool decks fall under our Arizona ROC 154755 license, along with the tile and water features around the pool. You start with a free consultation, and we walk your space and take measurements. Then you get a custom 3D design and an itemized estimate, so you can see what the deck will look like and exactly what is included before any work begins.

Deck Materials for Arizona Pools

We install four deck surfaces. Your designer will walk you through them so you can pick the one that fits your home, your budget and how you use the pool.

Travertine. A natural stone with a soft, textured look. It is a popular choice around Arizona pools, and you will see it in many of our finished projects.

Limestone. A natural stone with a smooth, even look that suits cleaner, more modern homes.

Artistic pavers. Pavers that give you more choice of pattern and color.

Acrylic cool deck. A coating over an existing deck surface, for homeowners who want a fresh finish on the deck they already have.

What a Pool Deck Remodel Costs

A good starting point for a typical deck remodel is $15 per square foot. Most pool decks run 300 to 400 square feet, which works out to about $4,500 to $6,000 at that rate. Most of our jobs also cover an adjacent patio or extend the deck, so a typical job is closer to 600 to 1,000 square feet, or about $9,000 to $15,000 at the same rate.

New coping is $30 per linear foot. Your number depends on the material you choose, the size of the deck and the condition of what is there now. The itemized estimate shows it line by line, so you can decide what fits your priorities and budget.

Pool needs work too? Plan it together with the deck. With the pool already empty, it is the easiest time to update the deck. Our pool remodeling page covers interiors, tile and equipment, and our pricing page lists typical ranges for everything else we build.

Thinking about a spa at the same time? We install Sedona Spas, a patented in-ground spa that sits partially sunken, so you step in at a 16 inch seat height instead of the usual 32 to 36 inches. The equipment sits above ground in an easy-to-reach module.

Who Does What Around Your Pool

We build the deck, coping, tile and water features under our own license, Arizona ROC 154755. We do not install pool interiors ourselves. When a project includes a new interior, our partner Nasaves Pool Plastering (ROC 245468) chips out the old surface and installs a new StoneScapes finish, and we handle the start-up afterward. Nasaves only works with contractors, so you deal with Dream Retreats from start to finish.
