Outdoor Kitchen, Ramada & Pool Remodel in Chandler, AZ

A husband and wife in San Sebastian at Valencia, one of the gated neighborhoods in south Chandler, had plenty of yard and very little reason to use it. Lots in there run large, and theirs was mostly open grass and tired travertine with an old built-in barbecue and a fire pit that no longer matched how they wanted to live. The pool had aged past the point where patching it made sense.

That is where Dream Retreats stepped in. Over about two months we took the front and back down to a clean slate and rebuilt the property as one connected outdoor living space, with every trade run by one company.

• Removed the old grass, dated travertine, built-in barbecue and fire pit
• Built a covered ramada and pergola with a linear gas fireplace, tile surround and mounted television
• Installed a full outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, side burner and weatherproof storage
• Remodeled the existing pool and rebuilt the deck around it
• Laid travertine paving and stepping pads linking the patio, the lawn and the pool
• Added a new fire pit, artificial turf, fresh plantings and new gravel across both yards

The finished yard reads as one space instead of three. Travertine runs from the covered patio out to the pool deck, and a line of stepping pads floats through the turf so the lawn stays walkable rather than decorative. Under the ramada, the gas fireplace and the television turn the patio into somewhere the couple actually sit in the evening, and the outdoor kitchen means cooking happens out there instead of a trip back into the house.

Cypress along the back wall closes the yard in without making it feel smaller, and the remodeled pool now looks like it belongs to the rest of the build instead of a leftover from the previous owner.
