Artificial Turf Front Yard Remodel in Phoenix, AZ

About the project

This homeowner already knew what Dream Retreats work looks like, because we built their backyard back in 2020. Five years later the front yard was the part letting the house down. It was sod on a border, thinned out by the heat, patchy in the shade and never quite green no matter how much water went into it.

That is where Dream Retreats stepped in. They called us back for the front, and we ran the whole job in two to three weeks.

  • Stripped the failing sod and graded the yard
  • Set a travertine border and a travertine paver walkway to the entry
  • Built and compacted the base course that keeps artificial turf flat and draining
  • Installed the artificial turf as one clean geometric panel
  • Added landscape lighting and new low water desert plantings
  • Finished the surrounds in fresh decorative granite

The base is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether turf still looks right in year five. Our crew screeded and compacted it before a single roll went down, which is why the finished panel sits flat against the travertine border instead of rippling away from it.

The result is a front yard that is green in July without a sprinkler running, framed by a hard travertine edge that keeps the granite and the lawn from bleeding into each other. The new walkway gives the entry a proper approach, the lighting keeps the house looking good after dark, and the desert plantings fill in over time without taking over.

This front yard remodel came in between $30,000 and $36,000. Front yard and new home landscaping projects typically run $6,000 to $25,000, and this one sat above that because of the travertine work, the lighting and the size of the lot.

Coming back five years later for the other half of the property is the part we are proudest of. Dream Retreats designs and builds residential outdoor spaces across the Phoenix metro, and we would rather earn the second project than chase the first.
